here are some photos from the m’sia trip. my aunt made so many cny snacks i was amazed…and she did the pineapple tarts and kueh buluh (spelling?!) without an oven…the ol’ charcoal way. -amazed- my uncle invited me to take a bus and visit them when i’m free to learn how to do all these things…i’m seriously considering.

there was a massive jam on the sg side on our way there…and boy was it hot. my sis was sitting under the sun’s glare so she took my sunglasses. she doesn’t look too bad!

reunion dinner part 2. we never have steamboat…but this is part two coz the table’s not big enough for everyone to eat together, we take turns.i had already finished so here i am trying to take a photo from the steps…shaky though. (need better photography skills).

these were the snacks that greeted us when we stepped into my grandma’s house…..whoa!

only to find out that there were more of them waiting upstairs….just outside our room. my aunt was reallyreally busy.

but the snacks are littered around the house…wherever there is space to store them…=p there was way way way too many cny snacks there. i was amazed.

my relatives grow their own pineapples for the pineapple tarts….they used to have more fruit trees but the trees got cut down in the name of development. although, for the past 2 years, the plot of land behind hasn’t been developed yet coz the developers and land owners couldn’t agree on….sth.

one of my aunts and a giant hibiscus plant. apparently this aunt can sing wayang opera stuff…so can her mother…and her daughters…so it’s 3 generations of performers.

reunion lunch…not sure what part though. there were quite a no. of ppl in the house on new year’s day.

my youngest uncle and his wife! they just got married two weeks ago =)

will take more photos…or rather, get my sister to do so.
